Reading Response Question for Week of February 7-11
We have been talking about summarizing in class. Summarizing involves thinking about the the most important events in a story that lead to the problem getting solved. Summary writing is short and to the point!
Think of a favorite movie or TV show you have watched recently. Think about the characters, setting, and problem. How was the problem solved? In four sentences or less, tell us about your show or movie.
Toy Story 3 is an adventure movie where Buzz and the rest of the toys think that Andy doesn’t want them anymore because he is growing up and going to college. They are accidentally taken to a daycare center where they can’t escape. Woody comes to the rescue, and eventually they are all able to get back to Andy’s house. Andy finally decides to give his old toys a new home where they will get played with and loved by a little girl.
ReplyDeleteIn the movie How To Train Your Dragon Hiccup want's to learn how to fight a Dragon to make his dad proud.It does not go so smoothy becuase he's scared and weak. so then Hiccup decides to save Dragons insted of hurting them.So the whole city propected Dragons.
ReplyDeleteI watched "Road to El Dorado" where Miguel and Tulio found El Dorado by mistake. The people at El Dorado thought Miguel and Tulio were gods and the only one who thought different was the evil advisor who wanted to kill Miguel and Tulio. Miguel and Tulio saved the village from distruction from the evil advisor and from discovery from Cortez.
ReplyDeleteThis is a movie about a soldier who didn't get promoted and lost his job. He was then hired to be a teacher for the JR. R.O.T.C. The kids hated him and wanted to get rid of him because he was so mean. But Major Payne and the kids learned to work together to win a big competition and a trophy, but mostly that they respected each other.
ReplyDeleteThe Hatchet is a book on cd that explains how one boy survives a plane crash and lives in the wilderness with only a hatchet, his brains and some clothing to get by. After the crash, the boy has to find some sort of shelter, a way to find food, and a way to make fire. He struggles at first with finding the right foods to eat, learning how to catch fish with a spear, and protecting himself against wild animals. After many months he gets rescued by using fire to signal a plane who was looking for him.
ReplyDeleteUnpopables is a show about people who build things with ballons. They need to make ballons that are shaped like a bird. There are three people. They finally made the bird and got it to work.
ReplyDeleteToy Story 2 is a adventurous movie about a kid who gets toys just to blow them up. That kid goes to pizza planet and accidentally gets Buzz and Woody as a prize.The kid that caught buzz and woody the kid taped buzz to a rocket.Buzz and woody escaped from the boys room.
ReplyDeleteThe Titanic is a movie where Jack saves a girl named Rose. The Titanic hit an iceberg and started to sink. Jack and Rose went under with the Titanic but swam up to the to of the water. Jack put Rose on a piece of floating wood so she wouldn't die, but then Jack freezes to death, sinks, and dies while Rose passed away as an old women all snug in her bed.
ReplyDeleteOpen Season3 has Boog and Eleeit and the rest of the animals.The setting is in the forest and at the circus.The problem is that Boog switchs places with aother bear that works at the circus and that bear thinks he is the ruler of any place he is.The solution was that his friends came with the bear Boog switched places with and that bear decided to go back to the circus and be with his friend.Then Boog go's back to the forest and with him is a female bear and they are dating.That is my blog.
ReplyDeleteJumanji is an adventure movie where a boy named Alan finds a game and he plays it with a girl named Sarah. When they are playing it he gets transported through time into the game. He is stuck there for 26 years, until two kids, Judy and Peter discover the game and start to play. Alan comes out of the game and tells them the only way to stop the magical game is to finish it. Together with Sarah they go on many crazy adventures until they win the game and Alan is freed.

The book i am reading is called wayside school chapter 26 Terrence. The characters are Terrence,Louis,and the students. The setting is wayside school on the 30th story.The chapter is about a boy named Terrence and whenever he plays a game he kicks the ball over the fence and finally louis got sick of it and kicks Terrence over the fence.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie is Tangled. It all happens when one old witch steals the queen’s daughter and keeps her in a tower and claims that she is her mom. She lives in a tower so she can see from a long distance. Then she figures out that every day on her birthday lanterns float in the sky. So Repunszal sneaks out of the tower and finds her parents who kill the witch and they live happily ever after.
ReplyDeleteIn the movie The Karate Kid, Dre Parker and his mom move from Detroit to China. Dre feels lost in a world very different from what he knows. Dre was bullied and beaten up by some fellow students in his school. Dre is rescued by his apartment handyman, Mr. Han who taught him Kung Fu, which results in Dre ultimately over came his fear of being bullied.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie is RV. A family goes on a rv trip to Colarodo where the dad has a business meeting. It's suppose to be a family vacation without the dad working. Funny things happen like a raccoon got inside the RV and the family could not get in. The dad tried to empty the toilet stuff and it got all over him. The father did not put the brake on when he parked the RV and the RV ran into a sink hole. Then the dad rode a bike to the business meeting. He was all dirty. He ends up quitting the job. It ends with him getting a new job and the RV roles over the car of his new boss.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite show is CashCab.These people who come in and answer these question.So if they answer it right they get money and if they get it wrong they will get a strike.If they get three strike they get kick out of the cab.At the end you have a choice you can walk out whith the money or do a bonus video for all or nothing.
ReplyDeleteMonsters vs Aliens, the monsters Susan, bob, Link, Dr Roach and Insectorsaurus have to fight some aliens to save earth. They destroy an alien robot first in San Francisco. Then they make it onto the alien spaceship and destroy it. The Monsters become heros when they are finished.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie is The Blind Side. The main character is Michael and the problem is Michael didn't have a home. The problem is solved when a nice family picked him up and treated him like their son. Now Michael is a professional football player in the NFL.

ReplyDeletekilling dragons like all the other Vikings. Hiccup shot down a dragon that no one could ever catch named Night Furrie. Hiccup becomes close friends with the dragon and learns all of its secrets. Hiccup shows everyone in his village that dragons are harmless and the only reason they harm people is so they won't get killed themselves.
A show that I watched was Johnny Test. Johnny and his dog, Dukie, tried to stop the evil king from destroying the planet, Earth, as he wanted to rule it himself. Both, Johnny and Dukie decided to take the king back to his own planet to rule it again.
ReplyDeleteWall-E is about a robot that was put on Earth to clean it up. He fell in love with another robot that came down from the spaceship to find out if there were plants on Earth. He and the other robot went back to the ship and helped the humans get back to earth safely. When the humans came back they restored the earth by making it green again and recycling the trash.
ReplyDeleteIn the movie Secretariat a family owns a race horse farm and the daughter has to decide to sell it or run it because they were losing money. She decides to run it long enough to see if Secretariat the horse could win the triple crown. He does wim the races and the farm was saved and was able to keep running for a long time.

ReplyDeleteIn the movie Yogi Bear, he got caught by the ranger stealing picnic baskets. He was told by the ranger to change his ways. He changed his way and did not steal anymore picnic baskets. In the end he only stole picnic tables with picnic baskets. He got caught by the ranger again, the ranger said very loud YOGI BEAR !!!!!!
